Kate is a Nova Scotia native transplanted to Rhode Island by way of her father’s career in oceanography. Prior to opening Root, Kate spent over a decade managing a bustling bar in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Kate is responsible for quality control, menu development, and supply chain operations of the business. With extensive experience in the food industry and a Masters in Business Administration from URI, Kate is driven to ensure the continued growth and success of Root.


A native of Cranston, Rhode Island, Paul is now a Newport local. Paul spent over three decades managing his family jewelry import business. Paul values relationships with customers, taking time to welcome customers and ensure an enjoyable and one-of-a-kind experience. Paul is passionate about building meaningful relationships through exceptional customer service.
